Dear Parents and Guardians, The students had a blast rollerblading this week! All of them were up on their feet when I went in and watched today and looked like they were having so much fun. Here are some photos! Have a wonderful break! - Ms. Moore

Dear parents and guardians, I want to start out by saying a HUGE thank you to everyone who sent in supplies for our Leprechaun traps. We received an enormous amount of supplies and still have quite a bit left over for our upcoming projects. The kids were so excited about the traps and we couldn't have done it without your help :). We had a very exciting and busy week of learning last week! We have continued to work on our sight words, including some words from the second hundred list. Please note that at this point, students should know between 65-75 of the first 100 words automatically. On Monday, we did our journals which continue to focus on using descriptive language, spelling sight words correctly, using multiple sentences to describe events instead of just listing them, and editing work for proper capitalization and punctuation. Dear Parents and Guardians, I hope that you enjoyed some of the beautiful weather outside this weekend. Here are a few of the learning activities we completed last week: Journals:   We have continued to write in our journal every Monday. At this point in time, we expect students to complete about 5 sentences within 25 minutes. After writing, they are to edit for sight words and punctuation. We have also been working on adding descriptive words. Have your child point out the "juicy" words in the work below. 2. Blends/Digraphs: We worked on r-blends last week, including: br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, tr, wr. As a class we discussed words that include each blend. Then, students selected a word and wrote a descriptive sentence about it.  3. Gingerbread Writing: Many students have now finished their good copy of their Gingerbread writing!
