Dear Parents and Guardians, We had a very productive day today! At the start of the day, the students worked with a partner to further their oral language skills by sharing their favourite experience from the weekend. They then completed a journal entry and illustrated a picture that matched what they had shared with their partner. In math, we continued to practice creating and naming AB and ABB patterns. Have your child use actions to demonstrate each type of pattern for you.  This afternoon, we read a book about bullying and discussed what to do if you are being bullied or if you see someone else being bullied. We also discussed how to treat everyone with kindness. Please take the time tonight or over the next few days to discuss the emotions associated with bullying with your child.  Science was very exciting for us today! We were able to participate in a fun science experiment. Mr. Dyck even came to watch!! We used vinegar, baking soda and food col...

Dear Parents and Guardians, We have been busy the past few days! In science, we have been learning about the primary colours and mixing colours. We have worked with a variety of materials, including: pencil crayons, paint, plasticine and food colouring. Below are some samples of our work: We did an experiment where we filled 3 beakers with water. We then added red, yellow or blue food colouring to 3 of the beakers. We then added empty beakers between the filled beakers. Finally,  we placed paper towel into a full beaker and placed the other end into an empty beaker. Ask your children what colours appeared in the beakers that had been empty! (HINT: Look at the picture below that has all of the colours😊) The students each received a few pieces of plasticine in the  primary colours and mixed them together to see what would happen. We were lucky, because a student brought in the book below to share with the class! It tied in nicely with our colour ...
